Happy Friday babes. I’m doing something new on my blog. Since I’m a stay at home mom I’ve been wanting to do more DIY at home to pass time while the kids are at school. So I wanted to do my own “Noel” letters because I couldn’t find something I really liked at stores. Plus it’s cheaper to do it yourself. With the holidays coming up soon I definitely want to do more some holiday diy’s on the blog and hopefully you guys will like it.
This was simple to do and easy. Now you could do this project in two different ways! You could leave as is the way I have it OR you could have the letters connect. I didn’t want that just incase I wanted to hang them on the wall or something. The Noel letters we’re going above my kitchen cabinets because I wanted to decorate that section with some Christmas decor like I did for Fall.
What you’re going to need for Noel project:
- Letters – You can get these either at Target, Hobby Lobby or any where that has wood letters. I got mine at Target for $3.99 each!
- Wood Stain
- Sponge Brush
- Cardboard to lay them on while you paint them!
Directions are very EASY!
- Simply dip the brush in the wood stain and brush over the letters.
- Let it dry before applying another coat. Once you see the color you desire let it dry over night.
I didn’t apply a sealant because I didn’t have any home and I didn’t want to go buy some (I’m lazy lol) so I kept it as is. I really liked how it turned out. I have a glitter “BOO” letters that I did for Halloween.
If you’re doing this in an a small place like an apartment be sure you have windows open and patio door open because the wood stain scent is STRONG!
What are some fun DIYs you will be doing this holiday season?
