Behind the Blog with Caiti’s Crossing

Behind the Blog with Caiti's Crossing

My name is Caiti Nicole and I’m a senior in college at LSU – Shreveport in Northwest Louisiana. I’m a double major in Marketing and Management and I couldn’t have chosen a better field of study for me. It’s all about communicating and connecting with people and making the best business plan to suit them and their business. I never sleep enough, nor do I ever meet a stranger. Unless they look sketchy. Then they’re definitely going to remain strangers. I love swimming and being in the water in the Summer here in Louisiana and then dressing for the freezing cold during the Winter. Jewelry is something that I’ll never have enough of. I can’t get enough of my boyfriend. He’s super supportive and will completely nerd out with me whether it’s over our favorite show and binge watching, a card game or video game, or the latest technology, he’s right there with me and I love every second of it.

Behind the Blog with Caiti's Crossing
I blog about my life from my perspective. The thoughts that run through my head about different things throughout the day get put to a blog post so I can get them out of my head and make them mean something. I’m in college so there’ll be bits about the drama and the classes and alllll of the stress. I’m always getting into things so any new projects that I start, I’ll catalog here. I’m not the most fashionable girl because I’m more concerned with functionality than appearance, but I love Lilly Pulitzer so with her new releases coming in a few days I’m sure you’ll hear plenty about that. I’ll meet you at Caiti’s Crossing!

What inspired you to start a blog?

I used to blog during high school but no one ever supports you in high school with things like a blog or something that might make you popular. My boyfriend encouraged me to start blogging again just recently and I decided to give it another shot, considering I’m a totally different person than I was back then. I built my site and started posting and now I find myself up until 2 or 3 in the morning putting my thoughts down because I can’t seem to sleep if I don’t. I’ve found that I really connect with myself the later it gets.

What is your favorite thing about blogging and why?

My favorite thing about blogging is that by pouring my thoughts into a post, someone somewhere may stumble across my site, read my words, and completely identify and think ‘That’s exactly how I feel. I’m not alone in my feelings. I’m not the only one.’

What is your dream vacation spot?

I’ve only recently started to travel and I’m trying to commit to at least one trip/road trip each year. I’ve always wanted to visit New York City but I suppose for a relaxing vacation, it’d have to be somewhere slow and beautiful like Hawaii or traveling through Italy and seeing everything then coming to a stop for a week or so in Croatia.

What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy blogging and writing, photography, movies, dates and spending time with my boyfriend, engaging with social media, shopping, designing, and planning. I’m a huge planner enthusiast and I adore my Day Designer. I’d be lost without it. That and my technology; I’m Apple all the way and I adore my iPhone 6 plus, iPad mini 4, and MacBook Pro. I’m a tech nerd too, obviously.

What are your three popular posts you have written on your blog?

Old Habits Die Hard

New Year, New Plans

Christmas 2015

What is your long term goal for your blog?

My long term goal for my blog is to have a decent following and loyal base and be able to keep this going without everything being lost in cyberspace. I want it to mean something to someone besides me.

Thank you for sharing this with us!

  • Hello! it’s lovely to meet you. What a fantastic idea to these behind the scenes – allows us to get to know you better. 🙂 (and traveling to NYC is amazing – just for the record. 😉 )

  • Welcome back to the blogging world Caiti! I love that I am finding more bloggers from Louisiana. I’m from New Orleans (but live in TX currently). New York is a lot of fun to visit and Hawaii is beautiful!

It always blows my mind when people began blogging in high school – mostly because I was in high school when people didn’t spend time on the internet sooooooooooo I’m old. Nice to “meet” you Caiti!
