Saturday Takeover with The Lilac Linnet
Hi everyone, I am Llinos from The Lilac Linnet. I live in Wales in the UK and I am 29 years old. I live with my boyfriend and our guinea pigs, Maggie and Lily. I love animals and adore being a mumma to these two munchkins!
I work full time but in my free time you will find me snuggled up with a book, eating out with friends or going for a run in our local neighbourhood. I have lots of hobbies and you will find them all featured on my blog.
What are your biggest struggles as a blogger?
Ideally I want to blog 5 days a week, promote my posts across all social media and spend hours chatting to bloggers via Twitter…. The truth is, that doesn’t happen and it frustrates me.
I try to post most weekdays and schedule ahead on Twitter but if I can’t do it all, I prioritise replying to blog comments. As a blogger it’s easy to feel overwhelm because there’s always something else you could be doing, but I remind myself that it should be fun, not stress.
What are your biggest accomplishment as a blogger?
To show up and post consistently! I can’t believe how many posts I have produced since I got serious about blogging and I am so very proud of my content. Also I am not afraid of putting myself out there and getting to know other bloggers. In real life I am quite shy but on Twitter I just get out there and connect.
Do you set goals for your blog?
Is it bad to say no?! I set goals to post several times a week and I am always up for trying my hand at designing graphics and freshening my site up a little. Beyond that, I don’t like to pressurise myself too much when it comes to blogging. I have other writing and creative projects to pursue though which I know that my blog can help me with.
How would you describe your blog?
My blog is definitely a lifestyle one. I have too many interests and things to share to confine it to one topic, but I hope that means that my authentic voice shines through.
You will find that I write chatty posts about my latest crochet projects, or my love of Harry Potter. If you are looking for honest book reviews and recommendations, you’ve found the right blogger. One day I will share photos of my latest trip around the UK, the next I will write about my health experiences. I am a cancer survivor and I talk honestly about my health on the blog. It’s a mixed bag which keeps you on your toes!
Are you excited for Spring? If so, what are you excited about?
Yes! I am excited for the fashion, to wear t-shirts and lighter clothes. I have sandals and maxi dresses who are waiting to see the light of day again! I also love to wear makeup more often in the spring and wear bright shades. I am hoping to spend a lot more time outside and up my fitness routine as a result of that.
Thank you so much Llinos for answering these series of questions. Stop by her blog and say hi to her.
