Hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend. Doesn’t it feel like Christmas came and went? Like I can’t believe we’re getting so close to saying goodbye to 2017. It feels like this year flew by so quick because I was just writing this exact post for 2016 last year. This year has been a good year and I can’t wait to share with you all about it.
My big boy turned 8 this year. We took him to Lego Discovery Center in Illinois and it was so much fun seeing all the things that were built with Legos. As a parent, it’s sad to see your child grow up because they’re no longer your baby. But on top of my child turning 8, I was able to work with some amazing brands in January.
I decided to be bold and dye my hair pink. This was the first time I ever changed my hair color to a bold color like this and I freaking loved it. Although it was a process. February is also the month of Valentine’s Day and every year Brian and I go to our favorite restaurant where we celebrated our first Valentine’s Day together and that’s Doolittle’s Woodfire Grill. They have the best scallops.
I did my first ever photo shoot with my friend Audrey. She’s so talented and because I wanted to start incorporating fashion into my blog posts I had to get comfortable doing shoots in public. This session definitely helped me.
My first rounds of fashion posts went up in this month and I loved doing them. It was fun and it’s amazing what fashion can photoshoots can do to your confidence.
This is when our lives get chaotic. We celebrated not only Brian’s birthday but also Landon’s 6th birthday. But on top of birthday’s, it was the start of baseball season for the boys. It was also prom season so I had a lot of clients for my makeup business. Which is our favorite time of the year! We also had some fun having my parents and our close friends over for some wine tasting this month which was fun. AHH and you can’t forget about Memorial Day weekend, we spent it at my best friends house.
Last month of school, baseball season was coming to an end and that meant my boys were leaving for the summer to spend it with their dad. We did as much as we could during our time like, we took them to a candy shop, their favorite restaurant, we got to hold some baby chicks, and of course, we went swimming a lot. I also helped out a big wedding this month.
This was such a fun month for Brian and I. We got to do our first blog photo shoot together and it was so fun having him featured on my blog. Landon lost his first tooth, we did our tv stand diy, we got invited to the Kalahari Resorts, and I decided to chop off my hair. I actually booked my first wedding all by myself.

We didn’t do much in August. Besides spent time with one another before the kids came back for the school year. But I had a really good month on my blog.
Before the boys started school, we decided to take them to the Milwaukee County Zoo. It was our first time going there and it was so much fun. Boys started the 1st & 3rd grade. I turned 29 and we went to Chicago for the day. Another busy month with weddings and bridal trials for upcoming weddings. And it was the start of the Beauty Mix Series.
The start of my favorite month. Halloween (and fall) is my favorite holiday and season. So, of course, I decorated my apartment the way I wanted it to look. We also created a fall bucket list and we tackled most of the things off our list like pumpkin patching, apple picking, painted pumpkins, etc..
But one of the things I loved about October is how Brian and I got invited to Kelsie’s (blog friend) annual Pumpkin Carving event. We went to a pumpkin patch, did a corn maze and we had fun carving pumpkins.
We got all of our passports, Brian and I went on a date to the Cheesecake Factory (it was our first time there), and my family came to visit from New York/ Connecticut for Thanksgiving.
