A few weeks ago I placed an order through ColourPop Cosmetics when they had a sale going on at the end of December. And with my purchase, I was able to get the ColourPop Golden State of Mind eyeshadow palette for free. I was pretty excited for this palette because I’ve been seeing it around the beauty world and a few people have been raving about it.
When I got the palette I was amazed by the pretty packaging. It has a hint of pink with rose gold. Besides the packaging, this eyeshadow palette is all SHIMMER shades. If you’re not a fan of shimmery shades this palette isn’t for you. Each eyeshadow has a hint of glitter and metallic shades. Which I LOVE!

The palette contains 15 eyeshadows with a glitter finish. You do get a variety of white, pink, gold and dark colors in the palette. From what you can see this palette is definitely more warm tones. The whole palette is filled with glitter, like when I tried to wipe off the swatches from my arm, I still had glitter on me. I had to scrub those baby off.
You definitely don’t want to use these shadows on their own. I would just use these as part of a certain look you are trying to create or use the lighter shades as a highlight for the inner corners of your eyes.

One thing I didn’t like about this palette is that you can’t apply the eyeshadows with a brush otherwise the colors don’t apply good or you have major fall out. You do have to use your fingers to apply. I tried to wet the brush to apply the eyeshadow but it wasn’t as pigmented as when you use your finger.
You can purchase this palette on the Sephora website for $26. But you can also purchase them on the ColourPop website as well. I would suggest getting it through Sephora cause they do have sales sometimes. It’s only available ONLINE.
Personally, I do see myself reaching for this palette when it comes to creating a shimmery or sparkly eye look. But definitely not alone.
