One of the things I love about being a stay at home mom and full-time blogger is that I actually get things done during the day. I’ve always shared our morning routines or tips for what to do in the morning but I wanted to share with you my routine once the boys are done with school every day. Things don’t have to be hectic as long as you have a routine and a to-do list.
I swear by having a to-do list. This is the only way I ensure things get done throughout the day. If I don’t write out what I have to do, I feel completely lost and my day feels chaotic.
5 Afternoon Routine
Check School Folders – Once the boys get home from school, they know that they need to hand over their take-home folders. This is how I get to stay communicated with the teachers and see what’s happening. Or get the cute pictures Landon colored or drew for me during their “Free Time”.
Prepare Dinner – Need to have dinner ready or at least have it partially started. I don’t like to meal plan because our cravings change. But once dinner is ready I like to make sure that the boys are drinking something that is hydrating with their meals since they’re not a huge fan of drinking water. Thanks to the NEW Welch’s 100% Juice with Coconut Water, I know for sure my boys are staying hydrated throughout their meal. If you want to know if the coconut water throws off the taste in the juice, it doesn’t. We’ve actually tasted it and it’s super delicious. ALSO, if you’re curious about the sugar that the juice contains, well mom’s.. you don’t have to worry about that because it has 30% LESS SUGAR!
Benefits of coconut water? It contains antioxidants, magnesium, potassium, and other vitamins and minerals.

You can find these at Walmart. Although it took me 2 different stores to find these because they’re selling out fast.
Get Boys Ready for Bed – After dinner, the boys know that they have to take showers, get their jammies on, clean their room if they played with their toys and of course brush their teeth.
Homework + Reading – Once they’re done from showering, Brian and I each take turns helping Landon read books since Rylan is a big boy now and he can handle it himself. (insert broken heart as he is getting older)
Clean – After the boys are in bed, this is when Brian and I tackle the kitchen, start the dishwasher, sweep and mop the kitchen floor and get to enjoy our late night shows.
