Beauty and Office Space in a Small Apartment

Beauty and Office Space in a Small Room

As many of you know I live in an apartment with my two boys and fiancé. I don’t have a house yet (those are future goals). Right now financially we can’t afford to buy a house cause we are in the middle of planning a wedding and paying off debt. REAL ADULT PROBLEMS! But that hasn’t stopped me from creating a space for “beauty” and “office”. With living in a 2 bedroom apartment, my space is very limited.

Recently we have switched bedrooms with my boys because they had the bigger room since we first moved because at that time I was a single mom and didn’t need the big room. But 3-4 years ago I quit my job and became a full-time blogger, I slowly started to create a space for my beauty and now I am creating a workspace. I will say that I now that I switched rooms with my boys (of course they didn’t care), I love having space not to only do my makeup but to also sit down and work. The best part it’s right across from each other.

What inspired me to share this with you, is when I saw my friend Kelsie’s blog post on her beauty/office room tour. I’ve been inside her beauty/office room and it makes me excited to when I have my own room. But until then, this is my little space.

And I’m sure many of you out there don’t have a room for this especially if you’re in an apartment. Here are some tips on how to create that beauty and office space in your small apartment.

Beauty Space (Vanity)

When creating your beauty space you want to make sure you keep in mind how big of a space you’re working with. For me, thankfully Brian knows how to do all that. He’s got a good eye for that. Cause if we’re up to me, my room would be cluttered lol So when we shopped for my vanity I knew I couldn’t fit too many drawers that I wanted. I got the IKEA Computer Table with Drawers, their 9 Drawer Unit, and Wall Shelf with Drawer (similar).

Now you’re probably asking yourself, is that enough space for her makeup? YES, IT IS! I personally like to declutter (cause makeup does expire) or giveaway items to my sister or friends especially when I get doubles. So then I don’t have SO MUCH in my drawers. I also have a big plastic container for any PR packages that I get to keep in there to remind myself that I do have extras or need to get through them.

On Top of My Vanity – I have a 4 stackable acrylic cosmetic storage case set. It’s a great way to store makeup. Personally, for me, this is where I keep my glitters, liquid eyeliners, cream highlighters, mascara, eyeliners, lip pencils, extra lipsticks, and extra eyebrow pencils. I also have my circle mirror, makeup brush holders, and a vase for my beauty sponges.

With all of that, I still have room for my Diva Ring Light which is a MUST not only for my blog business but also for my clients when I do their makeup. I have this foldable white chair but I do plan to switch it out with a comfier chair.

My Office Space

When it came to creating a space for me to work. I wanted something very minimal and simple. I didn’t want a crazy cluttered space. I got my desk from Wayfair while it was on sale. It only has 1 drawer which is perfect to store little things like chargers, markers, and anything else I need to store away that’s small. I did want to add pops of color like having a pink chair. Which by the way is the comfiest chair ever. I am also using a wine glass to store my pen which is perfect to go with my gold and rose gold colors on my desk.

Bookcase – This is where I store my FAVORITE and MOST USED purses, clutch, wallets etc. Anything else gets hung in the closet. On top of it, I have my ring holder, Charles & Colvard Earrings, and my dish to place my rose gold watches. [Use code: jasmine10 for 10% off]

Because I don’t own that much jewelry or accessories (I’m a very minimal person), I had to get a wall-mounted jewelry organizer. It’s great to store my necklace, bracelets, and earrings. On top of that, it fits my favorite body mists and perfume.
