Covergirl Full Spectrum Review + Makeup Look

Covergirl Full Spectrum

Whoa does it feel like this week went by fast! I had to double check to make sure it was Friday. I’m just excited the weekend is here because I have a busy weekend ahead of me. I am working at a wedding and I have some brides coming over to do their trial. Speaking of a trial, I have my own hair trial set for this month and I am so excited. I am doing 2 different hair trials to make sure I nail down my style for the wedding. I have yet to figure out what I want to do my makeup.

Speaking of makeup, I received the Covergirl Full Spectrum collection last month and I was excited to try out the foundation + concealer along with the other products. I love Covergirl and the fact that they’re cruelty-free now. Which makes my heart happy. I try to stick with cruelty-free brands but sometimes it’s hard because I love other brands too.

In the PR box, I received a variety of products like their primer, foundation, concealer, foundation powder, eyeliner, lipstick, blush/highlight, and eyeshadow quads. But for this post specifically I didn’t want to include each product I received but instead, I picked 1 of each and created a look. Now the look was based on the lipstick shades I received and let me tell you, they were pretty dark and bold shades with the exception of this one I am wearing.

Matte Ambition Primer – I have oily to combination skin. This primer definitely helped me stay matte throughout the day. I freaking loved how it wasn’t silicone based. Which most matte primers are. It’s an invisible skin primer and it’s going to give you a smooth base for your foundation and will last all day. Another great thing is that it does work with all skin types.

Matte Ambition Foundation – This foundation is lightweight and will give you light coverage. But you are able to build it up to your liking which for me I had to in order to get that medium coverage I like. It only comes in 20 shades. Which is less than their Matte Made foundation shade ranges. Which is disappointing. I did test out the foundation 3x and all three times, the foundation didn’t feel or look cakey. It was lightweight through the day and I had no issue around my nose which is common for that to happen.

All Day Idol-Brightening Concealer – I didn’t like the shades I received. They were too dark for me and it obviously didn’t brighten under my eyes. Covergirl claims it’s full coverage but when I tried it out it didn’t look coverage at all. I’d say you got a light-medium coverage. The concealer is matte, I’d give them that but sadly I didn’t like it not only because the shades I got weren’t for me but because I prefer a fuller coverage under my eyes.

Matte Ambition All Day Foundation Powder – I normally don’t use foundation powders on my own. If I wear foundation powder it’s over the foundation to give me more coverage. Which is what I exactly did here. Great way to set the foundation.

Sculpt Expert Multi-Use Cheek Palette – For this palette you get a shimmery blush and highlighters. Lately, I have been loving blushes that have a shimmer to it because it gives me a glowy look without having to feel dewy.

So Saturated Palettes – Love that the palettes have matte & shimmers. Usually, Covergirl palettes are full shimmers. But not these. I used the shade “Reverance” to create this look.

Defining Moments All Day Eyeliner – Love the eyeliner. It’s creamy, pigmented and long lasting for sure.

Have you tried any of the full spectrum collection?

Ooooh, I may have to give this primer a try. I have pretty oily skin, so I love a good mattifying primer.
