Wedding Anniversary Staycation at Edgewater Hotel & Spa Madison, WI

Brian and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary over the weekend. Originally we wanted to go to a winery in California for our 1 year anniversary but COVID really ruined those plans. We didn’t know what else to do so instead we decided to do a mini staycation at the Edgewater Hotel & Spa here in Madison. We’ve never actually stayed at the Edgewater Hotel & Spa before. I’ve always heard good things.

Edgewater Hotel & Spa Madison, WI

Edgewater Hotel & Spa is located downtown Madison, WI. It’s right on the shores of Lake Mendota and it’s also within walking distance to the Capital and State Street. It’s in a beautiful location. The Edgewater Hotel & Spa has over 200 rooms, a few restaurants, and of course the spa! Brian and I got spa treatments about 1 week before we stayed at the hotel and it was so relaxing.

The Presidential Suite with a View

Our room had the best view. It looked over Lake Mendota. You could see the boats and the sunset over the water, it was stunning.  We had a pretty decent size room. It was a king-size bed, with a beautiful bathroom. We had a shower stall bathroom which I love because I’m not a huge fan of bathtubs. But if you prefer a bathtub you can ask for it, cause they do have that option.

Because of COVID, we decided to stay in our room most of our stay. We decided to get room service. We ordered dinner from the Statehouse and we brought our own sparkly wine to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. The dinner at the Statehouse was delicious. You do have the option to dine-in, curbside pickup, or even sit on one of their patio tables and it has instructions on how to place an order.

For breakfast, before checking out we opted to go down and have their brunch on the patio. It was delicious. Although it was a windy gloomy morning, sitting on the patio was beautiful.

I highly recommend going to the Edgewater Hotel & Spa for a couples getaway or even with your best friends. It’s a great way to unwind and relax.
