Back in February, I decided to get a Kybella injection treatment. You’re probably like, what is Kybella? You probably have heard of it but if you haven’t, it’s a new treatment that’s changing the aesthetics industry. I have never had to deal with double chin up until I turned 27/28 years old. I have gained weight. I’ve always been around 115-120lbs but as you get older the metabolism starts to slow down. I’m at a healthy 143lbs. And I’m okay with it. I work out from time to time. Maintaining the weight. But the double chin has always been there.

Kybella Before and After
Because of the weight gain and the double chin being there, I’ve always been self-conscience about it. I decided to reach out to Aneu Med Spa about my options since Coolsculpting didn’t work for me the second time I did it on my belly. I went in for my 3 months follow-up on 5/4. And I was able to see my before and afters. I was actually pretty impressed because I only did 1 vial of the Kybella injection.
I asked on Instagram if you had any questions regarding Kybella and these are the questions.
What is Kybella Injection?
Kybella is a prescription medicine that is used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat) also known as “double chin”. It’s an injection that contains synthetic deoxycholic acid. You’re probably asking “what is synthetic deoxycholic acid?”. It’s a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. This is when Kybella comes in. Kybella helps destroy those fat cells and once it’s destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat.
Does the Kybella hurt?
YES, IT DOES! I am not going to sugarcoat it. I was warned before getting it done. But it freaking hurts lol. Although they use a chiller on your chin to help with the burning sensation, sadly they can’t numb you when doing the treatment. I did have a major headache the day I got my treatment because of the pain. And my ears ended up getting itchy and red because of the swelling spreading. But that’s just my reaction. Everyone is different.
How much does it cost?
According to Aneu Med Spa, 1 vial of the Kybella treatment can cost $600. They recommend getting 2-4 vials of the Kybella treatment in order to see major results. Of course, you do the treatments spread out. But again, this depends on how many treatments you need.
Is there any downtime?
I would recommend making sure you have no major plans or events to attend for a few weeks. Here’s why you swell up like a bullfrog. My swelling did go down after a few days. But for some, it lasted a few weeks. I would also like to mention that after a few days my chin felt like jello and I had no feeling in my chin for a few weeks.
How long until you see results?
Results can vary. I didn’t see anything until I saw my before & after, at my 3 months follow-up. But some people don’t see results until 6 months. Which is the maximum length to see real results. I will definitely be updating at my 6 months.
I definitely can’t wait to see what chin looks like at 6 months. I am still thinking about getting a second treatment. If you mention my name Jasmine Maria at Aneu Med Spa you get to save some money on your next treatment.
Have you tried Kybella?
