Lip Injections at ANEU Med Spa

YOU GUYS!!! I did something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. I’ve gone back and forth with myself about this procedure and if I truly wanted to do this. Lip injections are very popular and it’s something I have been wanting to do. Finding the right person that’s going to do not only an amazing job but also keep the lips subtle is hard to find. I’ve heard so many scary stories and seen so many stories like on the show BOTCHED on E! and that’s always scared me from getting my lips done.

Lip Injections at ANEU Med Spa

There are so many places in the Madison area plus surrounding areas that do lip injections. The one place that stood out to me was definitely ANEU Med Spa. They are located in McFarland, WI which is about 15 mins from the east side of Madison. ANEU Med Spa is simply beautiful and when I was scrolling through their Instagram account, I noticed that the clients that have gotten their lips done had the subtle lips done. Which is what I wanted. I am not trying to have big lips like some of these celebrities have. Not my thing.

When I went to ANEU Med Spa I met with Amie who is the founder and clinic director. She’s also is certified by the International Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses. In her bio on the ANEU Med Spa website, it states “Amie is one of only ten nurses in the state of Wisconsin to have achieved the distinction as a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist and the only one in the Madison and greater Dane County Area.” That right there is why I chose to go with ANEU Med Spa. She knows what she’s doing.

I told Amie what I wanted as far as my lips which is that I wanted subtle plumpy lips but I needed hydration. My lips are so dry no matter what products I use. She told me right away that my left top lip was smaller than my right side and I did have raisin lips. Thanks to aging. I swear once you hit 30 it goes downhill.

Lip Injections Q&A:

I got a few questions regarding lip injections and I am going to answer them.

What brand do they recommend?

ANEU Med Spa offers 14 different brands of lip injections. Amie will definitely look at your lips and she determines what brand to use based on what you’re looking to achieve and what your lips need.

What brand did you end up getting?

I got the RESTYLANE Defyne. It’s hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that are made of a naturally occurring sugar molecule known as hyaluronic acid that delivers nutrients to the skin, helping the skin retain natural moisture and softness including adding volume.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the brand you get but it can range anywhere between $565-700 per syringe. Since I got 1 syringe of Restylane Defyne valued at $625.

How long do they last?

They claim results can last up to 12 months but Amie said normally 7-9 months. I’m definitely keeping you guys posted.

Did it hurt?

This was something I was worried about. Although they do numb you really good, lips are still sensitive. It really felt like a bee sting. The lip injections do have lidocaine so once they inject you, it gets numb even more.

How many syringes did you get?

I got a 1 syringe. Like I said I wanted subtle. They don’t ever recommend more than 1 syringe in one office visit. If you’re looking to achieve bigger lips, they will have you come to the office a few times.

How long does it take to heal?

I had some swelling. I did take Benadryl to help since I swell up easily even when I get a mosquito bite. But besides the swelling, they say it can take up to 2 weeks to be fully healed. So don’t plan anything for a few days after getting them done.

How long did it take to get the injections?

My appointment was at 4 pm and we got done at 5:30ish. Amie does go over paperwork, medical history, questions regarding your skin, etc. The process itself 20 minutes for numbing cream to sit on your lips and about less than 30 minutes I want to say for the injection process.

Would I do it again?

Yes, yes I would.
