May & June Reading Wrap-Up

I am sharing my May reading up along with my June because I’ve read so many books that I just have to share them with you! I have a variety of romance, dark romance, and a thriller. One thing about me when it comes to reading books, is that I am a MOOD reader.

Part of Your World by Abbey Jimenez

Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ 1/5 🌶️

Age Gap | Opposite Attracts | Small Town | Dual POV | Midwest Setting

I loved this one a lot. Both characters (Alexis & Daniel) are lovable. Daniel Grant, a carpenter turned mayor of a tight-knit town, and Alexis, a doctor from a prestigious family of renowned surgeons, find themselves worlds apart. Although the spice was very minimal in my opinion, their romance was sweet and powerful. The angst and banter was perfection. I hated a few characters so much. Her dad and her ex-boyfriend are abusive narcissistic a**holes. Her “friends” were stuck-up snobs.

Unexpectedly Mine by Erin Hawkins

Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ 3/5 🌶️

I am obsessed with Erin Hawkins writing! Anything she writes I will devour. Emma finds out that her ex got engaged on HER birthday while she’s in Vegas for a bridal show for her wedding gowns. She ends up going out with her friend and they end up at a revue on the strip! This is where she meets Griffin (MMC) and he’s a male exotic dancer. After the show they end up going out since it’s her birthday… well too many drinks led to a surprise marriage! I thought this book was funny, romantic, and emotional! It was a bit of a SLOW burn but I loved it.

The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Boston

Rating: 3/5 ⭐️ 0/5 🌶️

I was not in love with this book. I was so excited about this book because of how hyped up it was. But I don’t know why but this book was a bit everywhere for me. Sometimes I had to reread parts to get a better understanding. It was also slow for me to get into it because of having to constantly reread parts. I understand why some of you guys loved this book. But I just couldn’t vibe with it. The ending was cute but that’s about it.

The Housemaid is Watching by Frieda McFadden

Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️ 0/5 🌶️

Boy was this a fast read!!! Honestly, though I devour anything by Frieda McFadden. When I read “There’s blood everywhere” and that was just at the beginning of the prologue, I knew it was going to be a good book. Millie and Enzo seem to always find themselves in trouble wherever they go. There are so many twists but also creepy vibes from the Lowell’s in this book that you don’t want to put it down. And the very end of this book, I did not see coming at all.

Bridesmaid for Hire by Meghan Quinn

Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ 4/5 🌶️

Enemies to lovers | Dual POV | Age Gap | Tropical Vacation | Brothers Best Friend | Fake Dating

This was my first Meghan Quinn book and it won’t be my last!!! Let me tell you about this book. I couldn’t stop laughing. Maggie and Brody are on vacay for different reasons in Bora Bora. Brody is Maggie’s brother best friend and she’s known him for a long time. There was a “whoops” one night that didn’t end well and ever since they’ve had this hatred for each other. This Bora Bora trip they just so happen to run into each other and well you just gotta read the book to see what happens! There was a lot of tension in this book because I could feel it while reading it. But I freaking loved it!! There’s plot and comedy which was perfect!

God of War by Rina Kent

Rating: 5/5 ⭐️ 4/5 🌶️

Marriage of Convenience | Broody Hero x Sunshine Heroine | Forced Proximity | Amnesia | Praise Kink

“I find you so extremely beautiful, it hurts to look at you sometimes.” “More beautiful than your ex-girlfriends?” “I’ve never had a girlfriend and even if I had, they wouldn’t hold a candle to you.”

This was an emotional book. Definitely my second favorite in the series. Mainly bc I know this is the last book in the series. I wasn’t ready to leave this rinaverse. Ava Nash doesn’t have it easy because of her mental health struggles. Even with all the money and fame she has. I loved that no matter what she was going through Eli was always there. And for me, that was the best part of the entire book. He never gave up on her. Their love for each other is just beautiful in my opinion.
