Brian and I have been engaged for about 7 months and we wanted to wait until summer to celebrate our engagement. This past weekend we had the pleasure of celebrating our engagement with our close friends and family. It was seriously perfect and fun. I loved it. It was also the FIRST TIME our families met! We definitely don’t know how our families never met during the 3.5 years we have been together.

I got a cut and did a baylage to my hair. It was much needed since I wanted to add dimension and color to it. With having color back in my hair, this summer I definitely need to find ways to protect my hair from the sun. Did you know that if your hair is exposed to the sun for prolonged it can actually cause dry brittle strands, discoloration, split ends, frizziness and thinning? Crazy who knew! I sure didn’t. With that being said, I am sharing 4 tips and tricks that you can do to protect your hair this summer.

One of our favorite things to do in the summer is spending our days either at the pool or waterpark. It’s such a great way to have fun, stay cool but to also spend that time with each other. In the summer, I don’t have my boys as often as I would like. So when I do have that time with them I like to make sure we are doing something I know they’re going to love and remember.
In the summer is sometimes hard for me to wear makeup because it’s either SUPER HOT or my oily skin is just uncontrollable. I have used many setting sprays and I have noticed that only a few actually quite work AMAZING for me. When it comes to setting sprays there are two things I look for in them and that is; oil-control and waterproof.
Hope you all had a good weekend. Brian and I did our engagement photo session with Hart & Fig Photography yesterday. Audrey and I have known each other since high school and I have done a collaboration with her before (which you can see here) and originally I wanted to do something in the fall but to be honest I didn’t want to wait another few months to get our engagement photos done.

Thanks for supporting Jasmine Maria Blog! A couple of weeks ago Urban Decay launched their new collection called Born to Run. This contained a new eyeshadow palette, 3 new glide-on pencils, and 3 new vice lipsticks. For this palette, Urban Decay was inspired by “on the run”. You get a variety of shades that will compliment all skin tones. I was pretty excited to see the palette in person because the colors are so beautiful but it definitely gave me fall vibes.
PopBeauty recently sent me their NEW Topper Popper. I have been using this brand for about a year now and the products have either been a hit or miss. Their highlighters, setting powders and sprays are my favorite of theirs. I have tried a few of their lipsticks before and PopBeauty is basically known for their vibrant colors. When I saw these in the box, At first I thought these were some metallic glitters to pop on the eyelids but instead they are for your lips.
