Summer Day Date Picnic

Warm weather, birds chirping and beautiful sunsets are things we love about summer. But mostly because we’re able to go on picnics and enjoy time together. Last year Brian and I went on our first picnic and we really enjoyed doing that because we were spending time alone without the kids, it was romantic and we were able to bring our own food and of course bottle(s) of wine. Who else loves drinking bottles of wine at the park with your partner? It’s the perfect Summer Day Date Picnic. 

Essentials for the Perfect Summer Day Date Picnic

Here are some essentials you need to have the perfect Summer Day Date Picnic with your partner. Now some of these you can switch up to your liking but these are our must haves. 

Wine – When it comes to wine we definitely like a variety of white wines. But most importantly French wine. Our favorites to bring are Georges Duboef Pouilly-Fusse and Saget La Perriere Vouvray. But if you’re a fan of red wines the Saget La Perriere Chinon and Georges Duboef Beaujolais-Villages are some good ones as well. 

Food – When it comes to eating something at our picnic we like to keep it light but also filling. So we always do sliced french bread, butter, meat, strawberries, cashews and of course cheese. Of course, when you’re drinking French wine you want to make sure you’re pairing it with a good soft French cheese. Lle De France Saint André and St. Agur Blue Cheese. They’re both soft cheese so you’re able to spread it onto the bread perfectly. 

Wood Board – Having this ensures you’re able to place your food nicely. 

Blanket – This is a must because you want to make sure you’re comfortable 

Basket – We didn’t have a picnic basket last year and it was a pain to carry everything separately so we decided to get one that included the plates, wine glass, wine opener, eating utensils and of course insulated pouch to keep your bottles of wine and food items cold.
