The St. Clair Chicago | Weekend Getaway

The St. Clair Chicago | Weekend Getaway

Brian and I decided to go on a mini weekend getaway to Chicago. It’s about a 2.5-hour drive depending on the traffic. We stayed at The St. Clair Chicago. We usually like to take a trip there once a year and since we didn’t get to go on a honeymoon right after our wedding, this was sort of perfect. Chicago honestly gives me New York vibes. What I love the most about Chicago is definitely the tall buildings, the variety of stores, food, and hotels they offer.

We stayed at the St. Clair hotel and it’s a unique budget hotel. It’s on the corner St. Clair and Ontario but down the block, you will find The Magnificent Mile. If you’re not familiar with The Magnificent Mile in Chicago, let me tell you! It’s technically called North Michigan Ave but because of the number of stores they have on this one street, they call it The Magnificent Mile. You will find stores like Burberry, Cartier, Tory Burch, Disney Store, Macy’s, UGG, Gap, Nordstrom, Gucci, Louis Vuitton just to name a few.

On top of being close to these amazing stores, we were also close to the Navy Pier, Chicago Bean, Tribune Tower, The Chicago Theatre,  and 360 Chicago Observatory.

The St. Clair Hotel is a modern, clean and fresh accommodation while you visit the Windy City. The St. Clair Hotel – Magnificent Mile provides all the amenities people have come to expect from a major city hotel, but the best part it’s affordable. Another fun thing is that they ALLOW well-behaved pets, up to 45lbs, per room. The hotel is newly renovated and smoke-free rooms. It comes with standard free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, workspaces, pillow-top mattresses, and Seattle’s Best Coffee.

The St. Clair Hotel is apart of the Red Collection. Their goal is to give guests unique localized experiences while providing value, comfort, and affordability. I received a care package that included these goodies for me to use while on my stay. Like this Erin Condren journal, Lulu candle, portable charger, and reusable water bottle.

For Dinner

Since we were surrounded by so many great restaurants, we decided to go to the Signature Room at the 95th floor. Let me tell you, this place was fancy but the food was delicious totally worth going there for dinner. We could literally see the city below us including the Navy Pier. It was so beautiful. I had their Roasted Salmon Fillet with Parmesan Garlic Whipped Potatoes and Brian had their Half Roasted Chicken which contained an Amish chicken, grits, carrots, onions, roasted squash, and zucchini.

For Breakfast

Although we were surrounded by Starbucks & Dunkins we decided not to do the norm. We walked to the Wildberry Pancake & CafeWildberry Pancake & Cafe for breakfast. It’s located at the Water Tower in Chicago. It’s a cute cafe with lots of delicious options for breakfast or brunch. I had a smoothie for breakfast along with the Strawberry Chocolate Belgium waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. Brian had the Key Lime pie pancakes.

If you are planning a trip to Chicago, want to experience Windy City and you’re looking for a budget hotel in great location, The St. Clair Hotel is it! Everything is walking distance but you can also get a Lyft.

It looks like you had a truly wonderful time staying at the St. Clair. The hotel really looks nice and the fact that they focus on care and relaxation is such a huge plus. That little package of goodies they left you was so considerate! Also the food you ate at those two restaurants has me drooling onto my laptop a little bit haha. Gimme those waffles!
