One of my favorite things to do is EAT. Although I’m a picky eater, I do like to try new food from time to time. I’ve lived in Madison, WI since I was 12 years old. I have been to so many different restaurants growing up because my parents loved (still do) going out to eat, especially to new restaurants. In the past 3 years, I’ve tried a few new restaurants and these have been my favorite places to go to.
Now you may have these restaurants in your city but I can guarantee the ones you don’t have you will want to try, if you’re ever in Madison, WI.
Top 7 Places to Eat in Madison
Brian and I love going here whenever we’re celebrating Valentine’s Day or a special occasion like “date night”. My favorite thing to eat is their “Pan-Seared Scallops” with brown butter sauce, bacon bits, and mashed potatoes. It’s so freaking delicious. Another food item I like to eat if I am going there for lunch is their “Fish Tacos“.
I love Italian food and this is my GO-TO place when it comes to authentic Margherita pizza. As you may know, the pizza was born in Naples, Italy. At Café Porta Alba they make authentic Neapolitan pizza. They have Tiramisu which is by far my favorite and you can even get a Nutella pizza for dessert.
[bctt tweet=”Top 7 Places to Eat in #MadisonWI ” username=”thejasminemaria”]We went here a few weeks ago for the first time ever and we were immediately HOOKED. I can’t believe we have never been to this place since it opened. I loved their “Fresh Grilled Salmon”. It was cooked to perfection. Brian, of course, enjoyed their burger. But our favorite part was definitely the cheesecake. They have quite the selection of cheesecake and we did have a hard time picking just one lol.
If you’re a fan of mac’n cheese, MAC’s is the #1 place I would recommend going to. I remember watching “Food Paradise” on the Travel channel and they had mentioned this place and I knew it was a place to try. Sadly MAC’s is only available in Wisconsin (duh cheese state) so if you ever come to Madison, WI – recommend trying this joint. They have quite the variety of mac’n cheese but my favorites are “Loaded Baked Potato and The Original“.
Love drinking beer? Definitely, try out the Great Dane. I personally don’t drink beer like that but I’ve heard great things about their beer. But my favorite is their fish tacos or fish and chips. Their fries are the best as well.
Great place if you like strong coffee or cappuccino but their crepes are to die for. I love “Nutella with Banana and almonds” crepes. So good. Personally, I didn’t like their coffee. Maybe because I love sweet coffee.
I went here with Kelsie and Ella (two blogger friends) a few months ago and I highly recommend going here for brunch. Get yourself the “Americana” which is what I got when I went there. Of course, try out their mimosas.
If you’re ever planning a trip to Madison, WI – I would recommend these 7 places to eat. These are all kid-friendly and have kids meals as well.
