I have been waiting for this collaboration ever since Urban Decay teased us back in February with this small little clip of what was coming. And when I saw that mini video, I knew immediately I was going to get my hands on the collection somehow. I even told Brian I was saving money for this collection. If you are a Game of Thrones fan and love makeup like myself then you know why I NEEDED to have this collection.
Game of Thrones is a show I immediately got hooked on to when Brian told me to give it a chance. And I binged 4 seasons in 1 week just so that I would be ready for the new season. I fell in love with the characters and got heartbroken when my favorite character died. It’s an emotional rollercoaster when you watch this show lol. Now that we are 3 days away from the FINAL season this collection came at the perfect time.

Urban Decay x Game of Thrones
This entire collection is valued at $250 and it is a LIMITED EDITION that you are able to get on the Urban Decay website. Otherwise, each item will be sold at stores like Ulta Beauty, Sephora or select Macy’s stores. But I’ll mention if the price next to the item so you know how much the item costs. Each of the palettes, lip shades, eyeliners, and brushes are all inspired by the favorite places and strong women of Westeros.
Each of the quads represents the intensity and diversity of Westeros power players: White Walkers (cool, icy shimmers), House Stark (smoky mattes and shimmers), House Lannisters (regal metallics mattes and neutral shimmers) and House Targaryen (jewel-tone shimmers).
HARDHOME – sparkling white transformer shade
FREEFOLK – silver metallic
FROZEN NORTH – deep teal with iridescent micro-shimmer
WHITE WALKER – blue shift
TAKE THE BLACK – jet black with iridescent micro-shimmer
WINTERFELL – antique gold transformer shade
THE SIGHT – metallic green with iridescent micro-shimmer
WEIRWOOD LEAVES – deep plum satin
WINTER IS HERE – dark brown with iridescent micro-shimmer
NYMERIA – warm terracotta matte
KING’S LANDING – pale gold transformer shade
LANNISTER RED – burgundy brick matte
HOUSE LANNISTER – peach matte
CASTERLY ROCK – dark bronze metallic
RED KEEP – warm copper metallic
BAY OF DRAGONS – sparkling pink transformer shade
BEND THE KNEE – lilac with blue shift
DOTHRAKI – gold metallic
HOUSE TARGARYEN – pale rose-gold metallic
STORMBORN – purple metallic with iridescent micro-shimmer
All of these colors are so freaking beautiful. I was actually impressed by the colors they chose for each house because I think it sort of represents each house colors especially the White Walkers & House Lannister. In the palette, it only comes with 4 matte shades and the rest are shimmers or metallics.
How cute is this palette? I love that it’s shaped like the dragon eggs. For someone who doesn’t know Daenerys Targaryen is the mother of dragons. Her dragon names are Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegel. It contains 3 new shades from the Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter, including Drogon (frosted pink), Viserion (metallic golden nude) and Rhaegal (metallic bronze). The highlight shades are pigmented and you’d be surprised but the frosted pink isn’t as pink as it looks. But I can definitely see myself using Viserion and Rhaegel shades.
I am not a fan of lip or cheek stains. I just don’t ever use it but when I tried the stain on my lips, you basically get a light sheer coverage and it makes your lips look natural and have a little bit of color. But you can totally make it red by building up the color.
These eye pencils by Urban Decay are by far my favorite eye pencils. They are so creamy and they last so long on the eyes. Happy they came out with 4 different colors for the Game of Thrones collection; Lannister Gold (metallic gold), Dragon Smoke (smoky holographic black), Winterfell Snow (iridescent white), and The Knight King (shimmery dark teal). Although I don’t see myself using the Winterfell Snow or The Knight King because I don’t think blue really looks good on my eyes and both of these shades do look blue. I do wish they would’ve maybe included like a pink or dark red in the collection.
I have to say that when I saw that they were including 2 eyeshadow brushes in the collection and they were shaped as Arya Stark’s and John Snow’s swords. I knew I had to have these in my collection. Needle is a flat shader brush and Longclaw is a large shader brush.
Look #1 – House Stark
I used the House Stark quad + Dragon Smoke for the eyes and Sansa Stark on the lips.
Look #2 – House Lannister
I used the House Lannister quad + Lannister Gold for the eyes and Cersei Lannister on the lips.
