Wedding Ceremony & Reception Details

This week I am sharing all about our ceremony and reception details. Last time I shared all about my wedding dress, hair and makeup details. Brian and I decided that when it came to the venue we wanted to be able to do our ceremony and reception at the same place. We didn’t want our guests driving to another location because it can be very inconvenient for some. Especially because we had guests traveling. We decided to go with Lake Windsor Country Club.

Lake Windsor Country Club is in Windsor, WI which is 10 minutes from Madison Eastside. The reason why we fell in love with this venue it’s because of the gazebo. If you’re like me and wanted to be spontaneous and have an outdoor ceremony, this gazebo is perfect. We were definitely lucky on our wedding day because the entire week it rained and it was hot, come Saturday morning we had 63-degree weather, windy and the sun decided to show up. It was beautiful. They also had beautiful bridges because of the golf course so we were able to do our first looks on that bridge. We opted to have the first floor, it’s called the Pinnacle Room and we had access to the patio and the twinkle lights they had set up.

For our ceremony, we did hire Memorable Music Ensembles to play music. It was PERFECT and here’s why. Our goal for the ceremony was for us to walk down to the Reigns of Castamere. Yes, that song. If you’re not sure what song that is then you need to watch Game of Thrones. I did have a string trio so they nailed everything during the ceremony.

Let’s talk about my reception

Our colors for the wedding were navy & gray. Brian and I love fall, that’s our favorite season. We both wanted the touch of fall in the details. We got real pumpkins for the ceremony aisle and faux pumpkins for the centerpieces. We also threw some faux flowers on the table since we didn’t have any real fall leaves yet at the end of September. We had to make it work.

Our florist Sierra (Love Birds: Details & Designs) also made our centerpieces to match our flower bouquets. She did an amazing job. They are satin flowers since my family & I have allergies I didn’t want any of us to be miserable on the wedding day. We got our place cards from Signature Nicole. These were so beautifully done.

We decided to have a dessert bar versus having our guests eat cake. This was a HIT because most of our desserts were gone. We chose to go with Madison Sourdough Bakery. We had pumpkin spice, tiramisu, and snickerdoodle macarons, profiteroles in regular & strawberry flavor and lastly cake bites in 3 different flavors (vanilla cake with mango fruit mousse, chocolate cake with raspberry fruit mousse and red velvet with chocolate ganache and cream cheese).

Our reception was so much fun thanks to our DJ Jordan from C’Est La Vie. He did an amazing job of playing good music. We opted in the uplighting and monogram of our names + wedding date. Highly recommend them. We had signature drinks inspired by Game of Thrones, one of them is from a recipe I found from another fellow blogger Elle Talk. We gave her Lady of Winterfell recipe to our bartender and they nailed the drink. It was SO GOOD.

Special thanks to these vendors for making our day beautiful.
